DIY #3 HORN PEARL NECKLACE

This is what I've been up to lately. Just had a very creative brainstorm this weekend and decided to redone my Primark Pearl Necklace. Just by adding it a horn it turned out to be very wearable on a daily basis and I no longer look like and old lady going to a church on a sunday. I like to wear it  just with a t-shirt in a very laid back style. Ah, and well my latest literature review, ELLE UK.

Ah e a minha ultima literatura, a ELLE UK.

HOW IS LUXURY DEFINITION CHANGING?

I've recently read a very interesting article at Forbes online magazine about "How The Uncertain Economy Is Changing The Definition Of Luxury"

For the ones in the fashion field or the curious I highly recommend to read it.

“These last three down-market years have created a dramatic shift in the definition of what luxury is. This recession has affected even the rich. No longer is luxury defined by excess and conspicuous consumption. Now luxury means products with higher perceived value and increased practicality. Demonstrating this is the near-disappearance of the ‘logo-covered product’ in the marketplace. The face of luxury is becoming much more subtle, understated and less ostentatious. Branded names are still the strong sellers, but the economy has dictated that it’s no longer fashionable to make sure everyone knows what brand you carry or wear from meters away,”

I personally always felt repelled by products which show off their brand's logo everywhere. It instantly reports me  to some corny football player  showing off his quick money (and lack of taste, I'm sorry). I really appreciate that those ages of LV and Gucci logo's plague are going away 'cause I mean: If I wouldnt  have the money to buy a luxurious "logo-covered" bag I would prefer to spend my money on a prettier bag rather than on a contrafaction. And if I have the money for it, why would I buy something that is counterfeit everywhere??! So my question is, who the hell buys that?

Portanto a minha questão é : quem diabo ainda quer comprar aquilo?!

DIY#2 POMPON BRACELET

Picking on this season's  biggest trends (animal print)  I decided to show you the bracelet I did today that can perfectly be added to our arm party! It is very simple to make, and the pompon detail ( which can take  little more time to make) really makes the difference. There are a lot of youtube tutorials here if you don't know how to make it. Enjoy and have a nice weekend!!! :)

Enjoy e bom fim-de-semana!! :)

IN THE STREETS OF NEW YORK CITY

DIY #1 - WOODEN STICK NECKLACE

I found this way of wearing a little bit of nature on your chest very creative and decided to show you  this on the first DIY here. This was part of Veronica B. Vallenes SS12 Collection shown in Copenhangen Fashion week. I just had to find the right wooden stick on my garden and the rest was easy peasy!

    SUPPLIES:

- Wooden stick | Pau de madeira
- Brass bushings | Buchas de Latão
- Suede Thread | Fio de camurça

The end result!

Ashkan Honarvar ‘Vanitas’ Collages

Since I was a little kid I've been fascinated with collages.I did a few indeed when it was time to decorate my school notebooks at the beggining of the year..But these collages of Askan Honarvar completely take my breath away (These collage series was published in I Love You Magazine)

(Esta série de colagens foi publicada na I Love you Magazine)

JENNIFER FISHER JEWELRY

"The feeling I strive to create for my customers is a casual edge, one that will make them feel dressed and finished the moment they put on my jewelry no matter what they are wearing"

Jennifer Fisher was born in California and started her career in fashion as a wordrobe stylist in several feature films, tv shows and commercials.
After moving to New York the city of dreams she started to make pieces of her own for her family and friends that were unique and special. From simple chains in the beggining Jennifer has quickly expanded her collection in charms, bracelets, rings etc by now. The foundation of Jennifer Fisher Jewelry tough will always remain the same, customizing everything to order and making each piece just yours alone. (P.s.let's just forget about prices and feel the inspiration!)

MY 10 FALL ESSENTIALS

As requested by my most critical and assidous (and also the biggest thief of my wardrobe!) reader I've come up with a '10 Fall trends' that I find the most wearable this season. (nice tip for you to go shopping afterwards huh?)

These shots were taken about 60 years ago, while my grandma was still single and in her twenties. They were taken in Alentejo, a south-central region in Portugal and how delightful they are...

TO DO LIST #1

I can't resist to go downtown without going to the fabrics store to see if there's any waiting for me. In fact, most of them have been waiting in line in the drawer for more creative days. But the hope that this time will be different, that this time I'll get this work done is greater.. This time I brought these two and in mind a dress  more or less like this one here designed. On the collar studs or appliques to make it less boring. Here I go!!

Aqui vou eu!
