STYLE IS TIMELESS #1 : THE LEOPARD COAT

  Today starts a new project on the blog. I'm going to jump  in to the archives of the style icons of last decades and try to find similarities to the actual street style. It's funny to see how some things didn't ´t change at all over the years. The first two protagonists are Lee Radziwill and Jackie Onassis (Kennedy).

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis will forever be remembered for bringing a sense of style to the White House, and her younger sister, Lee Radziwill also shares the same impeccable aesthetics  She is still seen attending fashion shows in New York and Paris with her effortless chic style.


Hoje começa uma nova rubrica no blog. Decidi saltar até aos arquivos dos icones de estilo das décadas passadas e tentar encontrar algumas semelhanças com o "streetstyle" de hoje em dia. É engraçado como algumas peças e cortes se mantêm tão actuais.

As primeiras protagonistas sao Lee Radziwill e Jacky O, irmãs de sangue que também partilham uma estética de estilo semelhante. Jackie O. a ex primeira dama dos EUA será para sempre lembrada por ter trazido um estilo elegante e muito pessoal que serviu de inspiracão a grandes estilistas. Lee,a sua irmã partilha do mesmo gosto pela moda e ainda hoje é vista em desfiles em Nova York ou Paris.

DIY IDEA#10 : BAG OUT OF A PILLOW CASE

It's been a while since the last time I showed you a DIY idea. Nothing better than the beginning of the year to start with fresh ideas and projects. 

This one is ranked by now on my TOP3 favourite as it's so easy to make and the result is amazing. 

You just have to take a pillow case (sales period are great for this) and start the project :

(make sure the zipper is in one of the sides and not in the face of the pillow)

Depending on whether you want it to be a Clutch or Shoulder bag add the straps according to your preferences!

THE KENZO FEVER

It's been a year since the new co-creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim took the reins of the Kenzo brand launched in 1970 by Kenzo Takada. It's so good to see how the brand is blooming again, they are definitely bringing with them a refreshing modern edge. Over the past months there has been clearly a more modern approach to communication and promotion from the brand especially the support of bloggers. The Kenzo fever we saw last fashion month in NY, London, Milan and Paris is nothing but stopping, so get ready!

Já faz mais do que ano (Julho 2011) desde que a dupla dos novos directores criativos Humberto Leon e Carol Lim vieram tomar as rédeas da marca Kenzo lançada (em 1970 por Kenzo Takada). É tão interessante ver como a marca está florescer outra vez. Há uma abordagem mais actual ao tipo comunicação e promoção utilizadas:  vê-se maior envolvimento com a imprensa e com os bloggers o que é fulcral hoje em dia. A febre que temos visto no streestyle do mês da moda em NY, Londres , Milão e Paris são reflexo de tudo isto, por isso muito mais estará para vir nos próximos meses!

Carol and Humberto Leon have created a line of shoes forVans that was released this Summer. The first edition fuses the red, blue, and green prints from Kenzo's Spring 2012 collection with the design for the Vans Era, a classic lace-up skate shoe.
